- Abstract (at least 300 words to describe your proposal)
This session would introduce and discuss the Creative Commons licences that are a core part of Wikimedia’s legal infrastructure. Run by Creative Commons staff members, it would provide basic training for new Wikimedians while at the same time giving more experienced Wikimedians a chance to ask questions and participate in discussion about the CC licences and how they work. Depending on demand, the session could be run either as a short presentation or tutorial, or as a longer workshop or even series of workshops for people with different levels of expertise. It would provide training for Wikimedians, increase understanding and awareness of the licences in the community, and allow Creative Commons to get feedback from the community about the licences.
